Brynje Arctic Balaclava with windstopper

Bought this Brynje Arctic Windstopper balaclava from a different source recently but was directed to provide a review here, so hope these remarks will be of some use.

It's an excellent, fully-protective design that fits well. Long neck extends to cover top of chest and back, so nothing pulls out and no gaps exposed whichever way I turn my head. Even though fabric is merino and Windstop material, the balaclava is breathable and easy to breathe through. I happen to prefer two-eyehole balaclavas and this is a good one. Why can't all balaclavas be like this?

Very comfortable to wear and should be fine under a full-face helmet (not tried this yet) for snowmobile/ATV use.

Although intended more for sub-zero temperatures, I've not had any problems with overheating above freezing so far; I could happily wear this balaclava all day long and overnight if I had to.

That said, there is one modification I would suggest to Brynje and it is this: it's not necessary to have a mouth hole and flap over it. Eliminate the mouth hole and just keep the two eyeholes because that's all that's needed. Why not save a bit on the stitching and complication? The balaclava would still be perfectly comfortable and breathable in simple two-eyehole format.

Highly recommended otherwise. Yes it's forty quid, but this is something that should last for ages and you'll be glad you're wearing it.

Very warm, and works great. Out with the horses in the extreme cold,still toasty. The mouth flap tack on the left side let loose, but did not affect the functionality of the balaclava. Highly recommend this item.

Received my balaclava and love it, keeps my head nice and warm and is very comfortable to wear. Couldn't beat the price.
